To ensure an employee with disability’s performance is evaluated fairly and equitable access to opportunity is provided, the following should be considered:
Ensure employees are not excluded from projects, skills training and leadership opportunities based on their disability.
Ensure the location of the conversation is accessible.
Ensure performance evaluation is not impacted by adjustments that have been put into place.
When discussing performance issues, ensure the conversation refers to the expected outcome to be delivered, and not on the individual’s disability or function.
